Coordinator, Research and Training

Oluwatoyin Olugbemi holds a PhD degree in Agronomy, which he obtained from the University of Ilorin, where he had all his tertiary educational training. He graduated in 1995 with a B.Sc. (Second Class Upper Division) in Botany as the best in his class. He immediately proceeded for M.Sc. in Agronomy degree in 1997 after the compulsory one year national service. He has worked as a Cybercafé Manager where he gained ICT skills, and subsequently as a teacher in both primary and secondary schools where he also gained both teaching and administrative skills. Dr. Olugbemi joined Energy Commission of Nigeria in 2007 as a Scientific Officer and was posted to the National Centre for Hydropower Research and Development (NACHRED), University of Ilorin, in 2017. He is the Coordinator of Research and Training for the Centre.

Dr. Olugbemi’s research focus is on the environmental impact of hydropower development. He has a number of publications in both local and international journals to his credit. Dr. Olugbemi hails from Oke-Daba, Oro-Ago District in Ifelodun LGA of Kwara State, Nigeria. He is married and blessed with children.
